What’s it about

Dear friends,

I have signed up for a crazy endurance race in the Gobi desert in Northern China ! Target is to run 250 km in 7 days between June 10 and June 17 in 30 °C. This race is self sustained, so I carry all my food and camping gear on my back. I sincerely hope that my sweat will be worthwhile, and I count on YOU for that !! By running, I hope to raise money for Morning Tears, an amazing NGO that takes care of kids who have a parent serving a longterm sentence in prison in China and other countries (Belgium as well). Those kids are often rejected by their family and society, and are in urgent need of a new home. Morning Tears also provides training and coaching to local governments in child protection.

I would particularly like to thank all my Beijing friends in supporting me though those sometimes gruelling months of training, my coach and friend Ruben Payan from Human in Motion in Beijing (http://www.humaninmotion.com.cn/), Jenny Melbourne, my exercise physiologist and nutritioneer and Annabell Chartes, an experienced extreme runner. Many thanks also to John (Beijing Fabric and Tailor Shop) for adapting my backpack so many times !Thank you to all of you for all your advice and support !!!

Please follow me on Facebook and on http://www.4deserts.com/gobimarch between June 10 and June 17.

Many thanks for your contribution !

Virginie Goethals
